Skills for real-life emergencies
If Your Child Ever Ends Up in Water Alone — They Need to Know What to Do
Drowning is fast. Silent. Can happen in any season. And often happens when adults are nearby.
Control their breathing
Roll onto their back
Float independently
Maintain an airway until help arrives
These are survival skills — not recreational swim techniques.
WHY WATER SAFETY CAN’T WAIT
Water accidents don’t look like emergencies — and they can unfold in seconds.
Quiet & Quick
Most incidents happen in places children visit every day — not just pools or beaches.
Often in Familiar Places
Supervision has Limits
Even attentive parents can’t control every moment or scenario.
Skills Add a Layer of Protection
Self-Rescue™ skills give children tools to respond when help isn’t immediate.
ISR doesn’t replace supervision — it strengthens water safety by giving children skills of their own.
WHAT IS INFANT SWIMMING RESOURCE (ISR)?
ISR teaches children what to do if they reach water alone.
Your child’s safety is everything. ISR teaches essential self-rescue swim skills to infants and young children—skills proven to save lives if a child falls into water unexpectedly.
Lessons focus on self-rescue skills like floating, breathing, and controlled movement — taught through short, daily, one-on-one sessions designed around how young children actually learn. These skills become the foundation for confident, capable swimming as your child grows.
The goal isn’t bubbles, speed, or strokes.
It’s safety, confidence, and skills that hold up when it matters most.
WHO IS ISR FOR?
Families who want real protection—not just swim time.
Want more than “water exposure”
Are nervous, cautious, or unsure — but know safety matters
Children can begin ISR as early as 6 months old.
WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME TO START ISR?
There’s no “perfect” age — but there is a right window for each family.
ISR can begin once a child is at least 6 months old and works best when families:
Can commit to short, daily lessons for several weeks
Are open to a structured, safety-first approach
Want to build foundational water safety skills early
If now feels like the right season, ISR can be a powerful step forward.
If it doesn’t, that’s okay — timing matters, and I’m happy to talk it through.
What Makes ISR Different
Traditional swim lessons focus on water comfort and gradual skill-building.
ISR focuses on what actually keeps a child alive in a real emergency
Daily Private Lessons
10 minutes a day
Consistent repetition
Faster skill-building
Built for Your Child
Skills are matched to age, size, and development — not a one-size program.
Proven Method
ISR has been teaching self-rescue skills for decades.
Short lessons. Consistent repetition. Real results.
Adaptive Instruction
Every session adjusts based on what your child needs that day.
A Note for Nervous Parents
If you’re worried about crying, anxiety, or whether ISR is “too much,” you’re not alone.
ISR isn’t about pushing children past their limits. It’s about teaching them how to respond — calmly and effectively — when it matters most.
Meet Your Instructor
Hi! I’m Megan - a mom who understands water anxiety
After the birth of my first child, water stopped feeling peaceful and started feeling terrifying. Living near the ocean, pools, and bays, I desperately searched for ISR lessons in our areas and came up short for years.
Both of my children have now completed ISR lessons and I’ve lived this process as a parent. I know the questions, the emotions and the trust it takes to begin.
My role is to guide your child safely - and walk alongside you every step of the way.
I became an ISR instructor because I was the parent desperately searching for these lessons - and couldn’t find them.
Becoming an instructor was my way of making sure other families didn’t have to feel that same fear — or wait that long for help.
Megan is a certified ISR instructor and mom of two. She understands how busy life is—and how important it is to teach children skills that actually work. Her approach is calm, intentional, and focused on real-world readiness.
